The popular Mexican group RBD, composed of the stars from the famous telenovela “Rebelde” (“Rebels”) currently showing on Happy TV, will have a big concert in Serbia.
The information has been confirmed by Pedro Damian, the producer and manager of the group, who has recently given an interview for a Mexican television:
“Our European tour begins in May. Our first concert will be in Spain and then we’ll go to Serbia where our group is very popular.”
The plot is set in the prestigious private high school near Mexico City. It started in 2004 and became extremely popular all around the world. It is currently showing in 65 countries and on Serbian Happy TV.
The band RBD is composed of six main actors from the series, Anahi Giovanna Portilla, Dulce María Saviñón, Maite Perroni Beorlegui, Alfonso Herrera Rodríguez, Christopher von Uckermann and José Christian Chávez Garza.
The debut album “Rebelde” was released in December 2004 and songs “Solo Quedate en Silencio“, “Salvame“ and “Un Poco de Tu Amor“ soon became hits. The album was sold in over million copies in Latin America. Although it was not released in English language in America, it was sold in over 400,000 copies. In October 2005 the album “Nuestro Amor“ was released and sold on the first day in Mexico in over 130,000 copies. The album had similar success in America as well and the album with the hits “Aun Hay Algo“ and “Este Corazon“ won the third place on “Billboard” list of Latino albums and in 2006 was nominated for the Latino “Grammy” in the category of the best pop albums.
RBD have released five studio albums until now sold in over 10 million copies. Their world tour starts in February with the concerts in North and South America. According to the official site of the band, the dates of the concerts in Serbia, Slovenia, Romania and other European countries are still not known. Numerous internet fan clubs are the best indicators of the band’s popularity in Serbia. The petition in favor of organizing the concert in Serbia has been signed by over 1,200 people.
“Un paso adelante”
The group “UPA Dance”, composed of the actors from the Spanish TV series “Un paso adelante”, was supposed to have concert in our country, but the concert never took place. In 2005 Beatriz Luengo, the famous Lola, visited Belgrade within the project of the Anti Trafficking Center. Miguel Ángel Muñoz (the popular Rober from the show) visited Belgrade as well. Having a chance to see the great popularity of the band, they both announced big concert in Belgrade. In the meantime, the shooting of the series stopped, popularity decreased and the promised concert never took place...
